Vintage Tommy Singer Navajo Multi-Gemstone 3-Strand Handmade Turquoise Necklace
Tommy Singer is regarded as one of the greatest contemporary Native American silversmiths. This multi-strand, multi-gemstone and turquoise necklace is signed with one of his earliest hallmarks, his initial “T” accompanied with the quarter moon (referenced here as a “C” due to the similarity of the shape with the letter). The Navajo believe that bears have supernatural powers and great healing powers. Central to the design of this necklace are the two bears that adorn each of the sides of the necklace. Three strands of turquoise and other gemstones varying in size and color drop down from the top single-strand portion of the necklace that features silver ball beads in varying shapes and sizes.
